    Injector return line

    Hi all.
After smelling diesel (more strongly than normal) I found the injector return line had snapped off on top of the front injector. (front injector to top of fuel filter line) On the plus side I have a nice shiny engine after 200km like this.
I cut off the jagged bits, drilled out the ring it went into, and migged it up.
    It leaked
Filed all the weld off and brazed it up.
    It leaked
With my better glasses on I found a lot of cracks in the pipe further up. Fatigued to the throw away point.
Isuzu say they have some in stock but have trouble identifying the part number for mine. They are after a engine number to help them, but mine is parked up 200km away from me now, and I don't think a 1981 engine number would help them.
Would anyone have a newer engine number I could use or know what model truck had this motor in it?
The local dealer only only has records back to 1987. My other option is to get some new pipe and weld in but for $120 for new gear I would prefer to just bolt it on.

Try using this engine engine number and model Albert-----743517 from an NPR truck about 89 vintage.

Which fuel line? Your description doesn't seem accurate...

EDIT: Oh I think I understand now, try this

I used Bearmans 1989 NPR ang got a pic of part. It looks a bit different to mine, so I would like some reassurance before I order it as there is a no return police around here.
Has any one else got one looking like this?
I will also try BadCo's number tomorrow before ordering.

The one on the left is from an early motor Albert, and the other one is the newer post 88 model motor one but I think they will both fit. I have both here on a couple of motors so will have a look in the morning..

Thanks Brian, I assumed that was the case. Its hard to judge by the photos but it looks like it will fit, the dealer was even less sure.
The left one is my 1981 leaking part compared to the new part on right. It will fit the injectors but the tail that goes to top of filter is the uncertain bit.
As my motor is 200kms away I couldn't be sure of it.

It's not much help sorry but the 4BD1s runs about 4 different styles of injector. I found this out when I had my injectors recoed a while back

They also vary between trucks and Landys. As an example my Landrover 1990 4BD1 is different to a 1989 NPR motor I robbed a rocker cover off the other day. I was going to rob the injectors as well but found they were different

Do you have access to an actual paper copy of the parts manual as found on the RAVE CD?

On about the 3rd or 4th page is a table listing the different applications of the 4BD1, it in particular specifies the Australian Landrover engine as 85.5 4BD1 Build spec: TRBG

It is the Parts Manual for 80-87 model engines so should cover your engine

According to all that mumbo jumbo above the part number you need is: 8944795750

Thats assuming your engine is a Landrover engine rather than truck engine

    Thanks Jock,
That is interesting about the injectors. Were they physically different and didn't fit with the injector lines?
And I thought rovers were strange and at least the Isuzu side were strait forward
