With respect, I don't think that KLR are "just adding a mark up". Those guys do a good service to our community of owners with well thought-out and supported solutions and modifications. Whereas you may be able to find a suitable kit more cheaply, we should recognise that KLR have already performed a service in identifying a "fit for purpose" set-up and (i fully expect) would support their customers. I have not (yet) actually bought anything from them (saving up for a turbo 'tho) but have had much sensible (and free) advice

I'm with ben, i doubt its anything special. A mate did his own clutch for his perentie, klr asked him a lot of questions about it and its specs. His had far greater clamping force and was a few hundred dollars cheaper. They do do good stuff for those who don't want to do their own leg work. Just like the $3k turbo kit😨.

Looking at Exedy Clutch Finder, I believe what I'll need for my 87 4BD1 county with LT85 is the RVK-6868, however does anyone have input or experience with that vs. the RVK-6868HD (heavy duty) or RVK-6868HDB (heavy duty button clutch) options?

Someone can correct me here.......I think I fitted a heavy duty Holden One Tonner clutch kit from a 5.0l V8 to my Isuzu County. Had the flywheel drilled and tapped to suit. Didn't cost much more than a standard clutch, but I am talking 20+ years ago.

The point I was trying to make is: They are not a clutch manufacturer... The product you buy from them will be purchased from an intermediate company and a markup added.

I am sure KLR are a great option for people who are happy to spend extra money for a drive-in-drive-out solution.

and that is a perfectly reasonable business model. It takes time and effort to do the legwork and owners unwilling to do this are more likely to pay the premium.

I ended up getting an extra heavy duty clutch from "direct clutch services". Higher clamping force than all the others, is built for comp spec patrol's running big horse power. Happy so far 👍😀
