Gday mate, keen to see how your build turns out, thinking of going down a similar road myself. Why did you go for the 4be1 over the 4bd1? Also do you know if NA 4be1's can take the 4bd1 turbos ? Cheers mate

hey mate, i went the 4be1 over the 4bd1 because it came to me for a very good price haha, there both fantastic motors, very little differences. the only up side to the E1 is the extra revs to play with and there a little more willing to rev through the rev range. Don't waste your time messing with any factory 4bd1 turbo they're a poor excuse for anything other than a turbo for a irrigation pump. Any of the 4b NA motors are good to turbo, just don't go to crazy if its got a million ks haha.

Haven't updated how its going for a while so may as well now. The hold up to doing the isuzu transplant has been finishing the old mans 4bd1t classic, which is all done now. Just finishing off a tdi conversion at work now so as soon as thats drivable the discos coming in for the swap. Planning to have the disco driving with an isuzu in about two, three weeks. I'm currently laminating a front maxi drive to throw under as the same time.
