Does anybody know the story with this item?

Wondering about this and will give the chap a call. But before that, I was wondering if anyone here has any knowledge about the backstory on this 'vehicle'. It may be some sort of random idea that someone came up with and failed to complete unbeknownst to anyone here.

I hazard to guess that machinery certification would constitute headache with chassis number not quite matching up to specification.

The project is in short, a marriage between a 90 body and cut/shut perentie chassis with the r/hand side 'rail' (as the fellow puts it) requiring 'welding'. No talk of a sleeve or any kind of procedure to indicate that this has been done properly, let alone measure. The body though does have what seems to be correct outlet for a perentie fuel tank.

Just thinking out loud because I just happen to have a spare 4bd1 n/a engine and LT95a box.... and it looks like the engine mounts are in present and correct.

That looks suspiciously similar to a car someone I know sold recently.
I'm sure his was on a cut down RR (100") chassis though but he had a ex UK army 90 body on it like this one.
I'll ask him when I see him later this week.

If you're talking about Tony's, that was on a cut down Perentie chassis, I tried to buy the jerry can holders from it years ago.

That's the one I was thinking of.
If it is, the chassis needs cutting & realigning at the shortening joint.

The jerry can holders might be available now as it appears the car is being sold off in pieces:
