    Rough costs for mine DIY:

    Turbo $700
    Manifold $300
    Exhaust $1000
Assorted hoses, fittings $few hundred maybe

    No intercooler.

So I guess about $2.5k for parts and you should be sweet.

That comes pretty close to explaining a $4k workshop price +-$500 I reckon. Things like the choice of turbo and cost of exhaust can vary by a few hundred from what I've seen.

Picked her up today and I'm well chuffed, she goes great so much so that I'm thinking I won't need a turbo after all! I'll run her for a few months and go from there, the thing is if I do decide to fit a turbo she'll be off the road for a bit and my other form of transport is a motorbike and its far to hot to ride to work at the moment!

I've used a bit of t-cut on the worst panel and that's come up like new which I'm happy about, so I'll give her the once over at the weekend.

Couple of things wrong, washers don't work, rear wiper doesn't work and the radiator hoses seem flat, also whats the switch next to the cig light for?

Probably the rear door window demister.
Got any pics? We'd love to see it!

Switch next to the cigarette lighter is probably the rear window washer/wiper. Rear demister switch should be next to the hazard light switch.

I had most of those problems too. The switches for the rear window wiper and washer didn't even exist in the dash anymore so I just removed the rear wiper assembly. Don't need it for rego.

Front washer I bought a new pump for a few dollars from the UK although it's worth checking the wiring and water hoses.

Use a reputable 15W40 diesel oil and it does engine, gearbox and transfer case. Same oil from engine to t/case.
