Material differences btween a NPR 4BD1T and a ex-army 4BD1?

It's changed a fair bit, but I haven't touched the motor or turbo, the fuel screw is still in the spare parts box 😁 I'm still amazed at the low end seamless torque of these engines, you get used to it, but then drive something else and think " this is gutless! "

Yeah, i wish i never gave him that turbo now! My one the same had a slightly bent impeller shaft so mad a horrible noise, but gee it worked well.

I'm exploring another option....might need to swap blocks, mine may be toast. Looking at using a NPR block.

Are the bolts patterns on the rear of all 4BD1/T blocks all identical (not flywheel housing to g/box)?

Likewise are the engine mount holes in the same spot...not a biggie but good to know.

All 4b blocks are the same. If i was to do mine again i would look for a 4BE1 personally

And actively looking for a 4BE1 or 4BD1T now.

Scrapped the 4BD1 block...bent rods and chipped internally.

I know where there is a bd1t motor, requires rings and bearing, complete engine, been dismantled for rebuild, think project came to a halt. Bores are good and true.

Forgive my ignorance, but being on the cusp of completing a 4BD1+T rebuild this caught my eye for future reference (likely another one for a spare I have coming behind it).... Are you saying I could substitute a 4BE1 block for a 4BD1 and use its bits, that I could fit a 4BE1 motor into the 110 civilian instead or ???
