Gasket has arrived and in the nick of time, now that the second story looks more like a house again, as I should be able to complete the rebuild in short order. Thank you Brian (and others) for your continued support.
Thought I'd post a few photos of the demo job too. 100+ year old house getting a second story.

4bd1 rebuild completed. Ran it in the dyno this morning and it went well. Picture attached with it in the back of thing1 (perentie) to move it from machine shop to shop tonight. Hope to have it back in next week and Godzilla back on the road.

Have it all snug under the bonnet except for the missing motor mount, which will be here tomorrow. Hoping to get it all finished and finally back on the road this week. Thank you again for all the support and mentoring.

When it rains, it pours... just to update, while the mounts came in, I discovered one of the brackets was misplaced. Thanks to input here in another thread I proceeded to cut down and weld from an NPR braclet and it worked like a charm. However, now the starter motor has gone (of course). I was able to source another using the part number within a day here in the states, but interestingly enough what arrived wasnt the proper orientation (photo attached). Suppose Isuzu has some identifier in a catalog that changes the orientation for the same part number based on country...... SO, tomorrow the original starter will be off to a shop north of here that does classic rebuilds of starters, alternators, etc. as that appears to be faster than sourcing one from Australia (though I'll likely do that too for a backup). Will update once actually back on the road.
Thank you again for everyone's help through all this. While it's taking longer than I ever planned, it's a great learning experience.

Ha! You fell for the old 4bd1 starter orientation trick. Ask me how I know...........

Did exactly the same when I bought my Perentie
Imported one from the States (cos they are cheap there!!!) wrong orientation
The freight was more than the starter. It wasn’t a lot of use!!!!
