    LT95 Chassis gearbox mount points

    Morning gents,

Does anyone have some a drawing, pictures, or a link to something that can be used to re-create the chassis mount tabs on a factory chassis for the LT95a. A google searches to date lack the specificity I need.

I'm swapping one into my 130 and even though it is simple to knock some up I rather not re-invent the wheel....besides a good copy of the originals will make it easy for my engineer to sign it off.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jason

Why not just acquire a couple of the real thing Jason. I assume you are talking about the triangular shaped bit of pressed metal that bolts between the chassis and the rubber mount. Any wrecker that has early LR l110's should have them. If no luck I am sure I have a few spare ones here.
    Cheers......Brian

There is a diagram on page 108 of the Army issue parts list. I'm sure its linked somewhere on this forum. I have original but no facility to scan & post it here..

Well that's an 'aha' moment for me....the 230 mounts are welded on and I assumed the LT95 ones would be too. Brilliant....and I should have thought of that document!

What you say makes sense to me now.....I'll ring around to get some.

This means I don't have to mock up the engine and gearbox together to set the mounts up before I sand blast and seal the chassis. I can set the height later when it all goes together.....bloody great.

    Thanks gents.

Or...you could have asked me..though I would have said: 'what Bearman (Brian) said'.

Any 4 speed 110 mount plates will do that job.

Don't forget that the 130 transmission cross member (the box rectangular bolt-in item directly below the transmission) is a bit different to the tube circular (ie. Perentie) OE item specific to the four speed setups.

Your 130 defender item presently has the r/h side of this crossmember performing duty as the trans mount.

All you need are the pressed metal transmission mount plates right and left (see Brian, or go to an outfit like TR spares in S.A. or British Off-Road or elsewhere), then the rubber mounts, then six lengthy M10 13mm hex bolts & nuts to hold both transmission mount plates to the inside chassis.

If you are going to keep the Defender cross-member, you may need to cut the R/H side trans mount at the plate, off the cross-member. This may be required for clearance.

And, by the way, the correctly drilled and spaced Holes are already there :0)
Easy-peasy...one of the joys of this conversion...headache free..

You may need one of Brian's clutch slave cylinder actuation bars at some point.

    Great info...thanks mate.

Brian has helped immensely dispatching a couple of mounts to me.....I did try ringing around the usual suspects but I couldn't turn any up.
