    Lift pump

    Hi all ,
I think I have an oil leak from under the lift pump, I went to order a new one from the numbers on the old , which is Zexel 105210-6130 , A quick google seems to link this to an Isuzu 6hh1 engine , I know it's a bit different from the normal 4x4 perentie lift pump , no small filter underneath , I just assumed it was off the 6x6 perentie , I'm now a bit confused on the correct part number , Big difference 4bd1 - 6HH1
should I just buy from the perentie part number and change the metal fuel line to suit ?
or will it actually fit ?
    Thanks all.

Why are you replacing the lift pump because of on oil leak?

I noticed before the oil leak , when I changed the oil , the level seemed to rise after a while , I'm thinking a bit of diesel leak . if it turns out as something else , I can just keep the old one as a spare

I get the impression that no leak has been seen, just the consequences as in a rising sump level. Why suspect the lift pump - past experiences on other machines?

Some ebay pictures indicate the pump unit is driven by a cam from inside the injector pump? If it leaked I would guess it would be to the inside of the injector pump; bypassing the fuel filter and on to where? Maybe a bit of leakage is required into the cam cavity for lubrication, and seals in this area stop contaminated diesel going further in to the pump?

The injector pump itself is gear driven and I would expect there would be a seal behind its drive gear. If that seal leaks (and if possible other seals further inside are leaking?) then I would imagine fuel getting into the gear train cover and down into the engine sump; assuming the gears get some engine oil lubricant then there is your pathway. Have you checked under the cover for signs of clear fluid running through black?

My Kubota tractor injector pump, cam driven off the engine, leaked past its seal near the cam, lifting the engine oil levels. New speed seal was also needed as the rubber seal had scored the shaft.

    Dribbling injector?
