I was looking for recommendations or someone with a spare radiator they would be prepared to sell. Currently in Bathurst about to head through Sydney and then go north.

Could you please post something to this eff cut on the forum. Many thanks in advance

Best of luck with that. I advertised in the "Wanted" section for a radiator and never got a response. If there are two about I will take one. PM me.

If coming to Sydney, he might try KLR Automotive - they specialise in 4BD1 Land Rovers. They'd know where to source the right radiator.

(Now a subscriber ) Thanks for the pointers guys. I thought I found one in Sydney that turned out to be something completely different to mine despite assurances from the seller it was the right one.

We kept going with our trip with a regular check on water levels and ended up completing a 5000km trip without adding any water or any descernable drop in coolant level which is confusing as hell. There's still a wet patch on the lower left of the radiator with evidence of really recent leakage... I have to assume its an absolute pin hole of a leak. So the next plan is to pull its out, pressurise it and see what the story is.

Does anyone have any experience re-coring them ?

    Cheers,

I spoke to Brad at KLR Auto yesterday. He said there are no replacements available and you will need to get a recore. They run about $1000 or more!

I wonder if Aussie Desert Coolers would make one for less: Aussie Desert Coolers

If it's a brass/copper radiator, it might be repairable with solder. Try a radiator shop.

This aluminium bike radiator that was punctured by a stick cost me $30 to have repaired with aluminium "brazing" at a Sydney radiator workshop.

You could fimd a v8 county one and get the outlet changed to suit, have done this before. Was about $360 for a brand new radiator about 4 or so years ago and about $50 to get it changed.

$1000 ! Ouch.... I'm a bit nervous as to what I'll find, hoping its a pinhole and not rotted through. For the time being I'm now travelling around with lots of water and a can of Bars-Leaks
