    Gearbox Type Confusion

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help me identify what gearbox I actually have in my County. One reputable parts dealer has told me that I have a 5 speed LT77 with a hight level of confidence, only to find that the filter I bought was completely different. Researching the forum suggests I have a LT85 but I honestly don't know. Just wondering if anyone can help with this one ? I'm about to try and track down and electronic speedo sensor for mine, surprise, surprise the speedo just died.....

    1) I think its the original box, either that or it has been converted well to look like std
    2) Its a 5 speed with reverse in the upper left position

    Cheers in advance

I can only see pictures of your lt230 transfer case. 5 speed with reverse in upper left could be lt77, but too weak for isuzu. Im not aware of a servicable filter in the gearbox?

The speed sensor goes in the transfer case. The transfer case is an LT230.

Thanks for confirming this gents. And the speed sensor goes into the transfer case ? Ok...I'll start the hunt for the electronic speedo sensor that I need.

    Thanks for the help.

    Cheers,

Electronic speedo sensor? I can see the speedo cable in the 4th picture, it comes from between the transfer case and the hand brake drum. It goes directly to your speedo. Perhaps check that first.

If you are changing to an electronic speedometer there are stock speed senders. You want YBE100530.
