    4BD1T automatic?

Hi, I am exploring engines options in a Defender 130 and the 4BD1T is a candidate however I am set on having an automatic transmission. I am moving on from a 2007 auto Hilux 3 litre diesel and the auto has been great for beach work and touring.
Are there any autos that could work behind the Isuzu and adapt to the LT230?
    Cheers, Luke.

I'll watch this thread with interest - thanks CHL !

I've heard transmission names like Allison spoken of but I've not been able to find anything definite.

Ausrover in Bathurst do a 6L80E to 4bd1t, that's one option.
Cor Conversions, whom have just shut shop, had some in the pipeline, Ford 6r80, aisin, 6l80e, Ford aod, but unfortunately they are out of the running now.

The Allisons are apparently quite large and because of this I have been told the tunnel needs cutting out and rebuilding to accommodate the transmission.

The Allison 1000 series is the best candidate due to gearing, however requires a stand alone controller.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Some Isuzu NPR were sold with Allison autos. You may find one in a scrap yard.

    2nd 2.364
    3rd 1.532
    4th 1.152
    5th 0.852
    6th 0.667
    Rev 3.064

    Allison 1000
    1st 3.10
    2nd 1.81
    3rd 1.41
    4th 1.00
    5th 0.71
    6th 0.61
