Welcome, from one New Englander (in Oz) to another (from US). I thought for a moment that we had another local sign up but then realised that you are half a world away, as you say on the other side of the marble.
We hope you enjoy the forum and we DO like pictures - your Perentie shot is great !
Before I tumbled to where you really were I was also going to invite you to join our little group next Thursday but you might have some difficulty getting to the Oasis (drinking spot), their website carries a bit of hyperbole (bs) I'm afraid Oasis Motel Tamworth Accomodation

Loved browsing that site. Looks great out there! Did the Series thing for about 15 years and this is my upgrade. So far I have new tires 255/85 r16 BFG/KM3 Muds on Wolf HD rims. Aschroft ATB diff w/HD axles. It is my daily driver so has tuffy center and Roversnorth doorcards. Quite posh. Added fold and go seats from exmoor in the rear. Here is a photo Album of the Perentie. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the photos mate - we used to be able to have M1s here too but idiots buggered that. Looks like your dog enjoys the Perentie. The backgrounds to your pics also show some of interesting country you have there
Looks a bit chilly in the winter !
If you care to browse there is another free forum that covers a bit more detail about military LRs, and a fair bit on Perenties Registry of Ex Military Land Rovers - Index
This is supported by a resource site: The Registry of Ex Military Land Rovers. Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. which has freely downloadable parts and workshop manuals

The M1s were not mine. I was attending a military commemoration as my sons scout troop was ushering the event. They asked if the Perentie could be on display next to the Humvee and the Honor guard loved the rover and used the tailgate during prep. Sometimes I drive the Perentie places, sometimes it drives me. I just try and enjoy the ride.
After 10 years of a 2.5 NAD Rover diesel I love the 4BD1. It is everything I wished the rover lump was. Love the Perentie, was going to paint it but have yet to see a solid color that looks as good as the camo.
Cheers,
Jason
