I would try a new relay.

The starter solenoid contractors could be corroded or damaged.
They can be cleaned.
Take the solenoid apart and you will see how it works.

I’ll try both of these. Might replace the leads too to give it the best chance.
100% a worn bugged solenoid, my old 110 did the same got so bad in the end I had to hold the key on for 30 seconds before it would try to start some times took 2 or 3 attempts.
I stripped my starter down and found a large copper contact had corroded away on the solenoid made a new one from some 2.6mm copper plate and once reassembled started first time every time.
Saved me spending silly money on a new starter motor.

My 110 has been starting for years on contacts made from a flattened out scrap of thick walled copper pipe!

You're exactly right! stripped down the starter and cleaned it up, started immediately.
Unfortunately the last person who's been in the starter has stripped every screw head in the process so wasn't too easy. Probably need a donor to replace all the screws at some point.
So how's progress, did you sort it all out?
