    Rear main seal leak?

    Hello
I have a ex perentie 4bd1t that has just started weeping oil from the starter motor. Is this a sign of a rear main seal leaking? If so do I need to pull it off the road straight away or can it be managed for a short time, I have a few short trips planned.
    Cheers

Unusual for oil to come out of the starter motor.
Have you removed the wading plug in the bottom of the bell housing?
If it is the rear main engine oil will come out
It could also be brake fluid ( clutch slave leak) or oil from the gear box
That leak could also be from the rubber hose from the crankcase breather. Mine perished and leaked engine oil onto the top of the starter motor
Hopefully it’s not the rear main
    Good luck

Thanks Phil, I'm not sure why I didn't check wading plug in the first place. Bone dry. I'll just go over all hoses in area again. Cheers

Paul, check the crankcase breather rubber hose. Most likely it is split and leaking onto the starter.
