    Oil Filter brands FFR ?

Hi - I’m preparing to undertake my first oil change so could someone - anyone? confirm which filter I should get? What sizes spill tray? Other tools? I’ll also be working out how to change and top-up the other fluids and oils if anyone knows a good resource apart from Seriously Series which is where I’m getting my info so far. Thanks in advance,
    Lala

I’ve only had my Perentie since March but I’ve done 2 oil changes in that time and have used the Fleetgaurd LF 3642 and it was around $38 I went to the local Isuzu dealer to get some fuel filters and thought I would price a genuine filter and to my surprise it was I think about $29 so next oil change I’ll be using genuine.

It’s my first time attempting it. Usually take it to klr but alas no travel! Now I’m having to dash into QLD and quarantine and don’t know when I’ll be back to do the car. It really needs coolant, steering fluid and at least the engine oil change. I assume it will be ok sitting idle until I return. Meanwhile I’ll keep researching the processes. Thanks for the info.
Any and all tips welcome no matter how basic- seeming. Fuel filters, access issues, idiosyncrasies etc?
    Cheers

I have the 1990 FFR, KLR have all the gear you need for a service, just buying a few things from KLR myself, also British4wd in Tassie are good for parts.
    Cheers Baz.

I thought I would give a quick update. I serviced my Perentie on Tuesday, replaced the oil filter with a genuine one which was $30 instead of $38 that the Fleetgaurd is but the most surprising thing for me as I have seen it mentioned on this forum elsewhere is how quick the oil light goes out on the first start of the day. With the Fleetgaurd filter it was taking at least 5 seconds where as with the genuine one it’s half the time. I have no idea why maybe someone could enlighten me but it has to be a good thing.
    Thanks Paul.

Super helpful - thanks! I’ll have to pay for this one but I’ll take some oil with me into remote Central Australia, and the tools for the oil changes.

Also - is this all good for high temperatures or am I thinking of the diff oil that needs to be higher viscosity for the heat?
