I impression (may be wrong) is the flywheel housing is larger than the 4BD1, so it could be a problem with clearance to the left chassis rail. The rear facing starter may help the clearance to the chassis but may need a bulge in the passenger floor.
My gearbox (MXA-6R) is a little different to that in the pic. It's case was too wide for the front extension housing of an LT230. The overall length of the gearbox and bell housing is about the same as for an R380 with 300Tdi bell housing.
The cable gearshift on my gearbox is similar (small differences). I used shifter and cables from an old Toyota Corolla.
The 4HE1T is a pretty big engine. I have a brand spankin new one sitting on my floor at work. The bellhousing is to siut an NPR so not too sure on fitting LR box.
There are two versions as well, the 4HE1T and 4HE1TC (intercooled)
The 4HE1T i have is a complete Genuine engine including pump and injectors but minus fan.
Anyone in Perth is welcome to come down and have a look and size it up.
Just PM me and arrange a time to come in.
You need to make sure when you buy one of these that you are getting the right spec.
The 4HE1T non intercooled is generally identified by the IHI turbo.
The 4HE1TC intercooled is identified by the Garrett turbo.
Dont use the TC engine without an intercooler or one that is smaller than the original spec. Intake charge temp will be a lot hotter and there will be problems.
