Our Defender/County 120?

Have sorted the eleco rats nest and fitted duel bat set up, UHF,Work lights and power out lets. They now all run on the 2nd Batery under the tray.

I did a quick fix with pulled cab rivets:angel: Used air drill and went upwards with bigger rivets so didn't have to pull top cab off. Also have reinforced RHS door striker.
Got an expensive box from UK with a bash plate and rear diff guard. Also a HD drag link from LRA. Now all fitted.
Just have to make a bash plate to put under transfer box.

Had some hold ups with phyro and boost guages as suplier sent the wrong pods/cups and hasn't got the phyro yet:mad:

Now loaded and at work... IT makes easy work of these hills.

The 120 is going OK. Main issues now are Tranfer lever doesn't feel like it goes right through to low or diff lock. Only adjustment I hope.

The camera flaterns things out but this is 45% and towing a self feeder on skids that weighs 750kgs.:eek: The AT tyres arn't so good on wet grass:( But we made it with a snatch strap:) Our Toyotas here find this hard in the Dry with out towing a full feeder on skids:D

It will come up ok. No rust I hope for your sake. Looks 85ish. Might have LT95:). Looks diferent with 7' Tray.
Mine is 8' and is 6" back of cab :eek:
Have been using mine every day and has been great fun. I just tell the boys here take it easy and enjoy the ride. They do ride nice.:D

It's not the best example of a 120, but they're not that easy to come by, so I don't mind having to fix a bit of rust. It has got a Lt85 (late '85 model), but I've got a Lt95 bellhousing and a spare box if I want to do a swap.
The tray will be easy to extend, it does look weird as short as it is.
I'm considering extending the cab (extracab) if I can find a 110 roof to cut up.

I like the extra cab idea:) This is why I have not moved my tray forward.
An extra 4" would suit me fine. (In the cab that is).:D

Have put the 33 X 12.5 off my Red Rangie on to see if it copes ok.
They bind under tray before full cycle of suspension so will need to lift the tray or add spacers and extend bump stops move shock mounts etc on front and rear. I think it will get to high if I do this.

Have just received the phyro guage today:) Bloody Repco:mad::mad:

When I 1st got this thing it had a surge problem and I still think it should pull better. As it had no boost of phyro guages hard to know what the cause is or what boost etc
I'm going to fit the phyro post turbo as I don't have time to pull it all off to drill and tap Pre turbo as used daily here now. So have to allow 200 deg temp drop.
Not sure what heat the suzi can cope with so will be conservative when fueling up. Maybe 450deg post turbo?

The pressure drop across your turbo varies with how hard the turbo is working. When it's got very little boost there'll be next to no pressure drop, but under acceleration the difference will be greatest and a downstream probe will be next to useless.
You need to know how much backpressure your turbo creates under each operating condition and temperature to get a good prediction of the temperature drop through the turbine.

I'd wait to install it until you can put it in the manifold, once it's in the dump pipe the chances of it ever being moved aren't good.

When I took mine to Sydney, I could hit 500*c post turbo with the trailer on, but when on the way bach with the rangie on the trailer, If I maintained 500*C it would start lifting engine temp, so I think seeing as you have lacky's driveing it, 450*C max would be ideal, If only you drove it, you can just crank it up and drive of the pyro:twisted:
