I've trolled through this thread but didn't see any listing for full reco kits.

I spoke to the guys at Gilbert & Roach Newcastle but they can't help me without a VIN or specific part number.

For the liners you will need to measure to determine the right grade per cylinder. I'll post up a diagram outlining the process along with the power/torque/performance curve charts we've used for this rebuild, not claiming ANY expertise at all, just passing along what I have so if it's wrong, please someone let me know too)

I wasn't sure what to go with on the bolts as you can see and ordered them all knowing the Isuzu parts supplier here (United States) will take back any undamaged and unused for me.

Piston & Liner Grading Guide & Sample + Power/Torque/Performance Curves

Please find the piston and liner guide from Isuzu I was able to use. It is from a 4BD2 manual, but according to Isuzu was the same procedure to determine the right ones for the 4BD1. I also included the measurements from my 87 110 County 4BD1+T's cylinders as a sample. Also attached for rebuilds are a few power/torque/performance curves for 4x4 4BD1 and 6x6 4BD1T which I 'think' I originally found either here or on REMLR which are all, regardless, fully attributable to others. I hope these are of use to someone in conjunction with the part numbers I provided above for my rebuild.

Are coolant senders (for replacement) the same ones used on the 200 or 300 tdi's perhaps? Does anyone know the VDO specific part numbers for the ones used in the 4BD1 (trying to crosswalk against what is here in the states to make sure the sender's threads and size are correct)?

    The 4BD1 Part Numbers Reference

The sender is M16x1.5. The VDO part that fits directly is 323-417 and the gauge to match it would be 310-108.

The one linked above has a 1/8” NPT sender and you would need an adapter to fit it.

As far as I know no-one makes adaptors from Metric Conduit to NPT. There are very few available for Metric conduit to BSP. You need a Metric plug and an NPT tap and taper reamer if you are a fussy old fitter-machinist. Metric Conduit fittings are readily available from hydraulic and fittings suppliers. Powell's and IFS in Brisbane come to mind.

Edit- Note that the tapping drill size is different for reamer or not.

Here's a couple of pics of the genuine articles. You can see the AYG9603 part number on the sender. It does go into an adapter on the thermo housing. The gauge you show is a little different in the rim area to the cockpit version used in the perenties but would work ok other than that.110 Perentie temp gauge and sender 002.jpg110 Perentie temp gauge and sender 003.jpg

Or just buy the plug and play sender that I provided the part number for. It is a perfect fit for the engine and puts the tip of the sender in the perfect location.

Not sure what you are on about a reamer. The female side of NPT is parallel. The tapered threads are on the male side. You just drill and tap. Of course M16 to 1/8 NPT adapters are simple to find.
