    Finally on the Road

    Happy New Year to all.

A quick mention that our Rangie with 4BD1-T is on the road, I drove it home from Sanctuary Point to the Blue Mountains yesterday, a 3 and a half hour trip.

While travelling the M5 I hit 140km/h for a short stint while still being overtaken, the boost hit 6.5 and EGT hit 600, there is possibly a tacho error with the 2300 RPM.

There was a funny slow down in first and second that I am putting down to the narrow V8 exhaust system.

Everything went well, next week we will drop it off to the exhaust shop, still undeceided weather to go for a 2 and a half inch or 3 inch thru exhaust, then we'll get the diesel guys to check over the tuning and tappet noise.

    Pics to follow.

As they say it wasn't until you post those pics you mention!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

That's good news Glenn. Best news I've heard all year .

For what it's worth, the section of exhaust that was with my 4BD1-T from an Isuzu truck, was 2-1/2" dia. I'm using 3".

I'm a waver but alas our Rangie has been off the road for just over 12 months.

If the driver of a burgandy Falcon ute has been waving to you ... it has probably been me.

I'm guess it's one of the little things you still need to attend to, but your engine fan won't help cooling without a shroud - it will mostly circulate the hot air within the engine bay.

I'd like to see the other pics on your web site - a link to it would be appreciated.

I have to do a cut and shut on the shroud, the fan is off-set a little, no problem thou we do plastic welding as part of our business.

I have checked out more of the forum and a 3 inch exhaust is looking good, I might put in a muffler unlike those that have gone a-la-natural.

Our web site is Devine Temptations - Range Rover we are still setting up other area but the Rangie and Macgregor 26X pages are there.

For the tech dudes out there the banner with built-in drop down menus was created with Xtivity, the photos are edited with Photoshop and everything combined with Dreamweaver CS3 .... further down the track I will be combining video from Pinnacle Studio and Adobe After Effects all done in-house as we all do .. don't we?

    Still a bit to do

    1. exhaust guy
    2. tuning check and tappets with the diesel dudes
    3. I have the rest of the electrics to sort out
    4. I'm not overly happy with the sump seal so might fit a new gasket
    5. fit the warn high mount winch
    6. finish the console area off
    7. I'm sure there's a 7 there somewhere, the joys of owning a Rangie.
