    4BD1-T Parts

Gday all looking at buying a Isuzu county 4BD1-T are parts easily sourced for these motors ? i.e heads, sumps, rings, pistons, everything
and how do you tell if the vehicle has a tapered roller bearing transfer case ? (JC did tell me but i forgot)
    Thanks
    Adrian

Parts are still easily obtained however you wont need any (more than likely). The Tapered roller intermediate shaft assembly is identifiable from outside the transfer case by the large bolt head secured by a lock tab where the intermediate shaft protrudes out of the t/case.

From my LT230 experience the intermediate shafts with taper roller bearings have a large nut on the rear end (not a large bolt head). This nut provides the method for pre-loading the bearings and has to have a locking method to prevent loosening - I have seen both lock tabs and stave-nuts.

Perhaps there were 2 different methods (bolt/nut) over the years.

Parts for Isuzu engines are easy to source. AFAIK, the 4BD1 is still in production (what I was told by Isuzu parts salesperson a couple of years back) - probably only for industrial use.

Does this mean Isuzu County = 1st and Defender = 2nd

Seriously though, you wont have trouble getting parts (if you should need them)
