    Engine options, 2000 defender.

    Hey Guys,
I have just brought 2000 td5 defender ute which has a blown motor, So my first idea was to put a td5 back in, but they seem to be a very expensive motor and maybe not that reliable . They next throught was a isuzu this seems to a very reliable and reasonably powerful with a turbo. Also what is involved in doing this transplant.

Any other repowering (must be diesel) options would be great.

    Cheers Ben

If you want it to be legal, you will need to get it engineered, and that will mean amongst other things that the engine you decide to fit has to be newer than the car, and retain all of its emissions stuff.
