Part number for rear prop shaft in Isuzu 110 4 speed?

Does anyone have this part number? I have the army part number and is pretty exy. 200 tdi 110 shaft seems to be about the same length and about half the price.

    thanks

I am pretty certain they are interchangeable - I know the one I got to replace mine came off a later model, but I am not sure which one.

The spline of mine has lateral movement and want to change it before an upcoming trip.

There are some surprising variations in length.

My prop shaft when sitting level is 109cm long (yoke face to yoke face), with standard Donaldson springs giving probably 25mm lift. The army part number is AYG7192.

An early 200TDI Defender is 107.5 to 113 cm long and is FRC8389.

    Another is FTC3905 for a 300TDI Defender is 106.5 to 112cm.

The 110 Wolf (not 130 UK military) and TD5 Defender is FTC4198 (heavy duty version?) and is 114 to 120.5cm.

Either the 200 TDI or 300TDI is probably ok. But am curious about other owner's experience.

Bearman is checking his shed this weekend for a spare factory propshaft. Otherwise will need to pick one of these.

    thanks

Another option is to get your existing shaft rebuilt. There are guys who specialise in this. Look up 'drive shafts' in the yellow pages, or ask any good mechanic in your area who does it. Basically they cut off the old splines and weld new ones on and re-balance the shaft. It's not cheap, but might work out better than new parts.

Only one place does it round here. Quoted me almost double the cost of a new genuine prop shaft. His freight from Sydney for a spline joint and two U-joints was double the freight from Melbourne (twice as far) on a complete rear tailshaft.

By all means investigate it, but do not expect it to necessarily cheaper! (The finished article though should be just as good as a new one).

Thanks Murray & John. Yes I looked at that option. Using my current unis it's about $100 cheaper than the army part but more expensive than a new 200TDI shaft with new unis delivered to my door.

    110 four speed drive shaft

Let me know how it goes and what one you went with as I need to change mine as well.
I looked at the rebuild and it was about the same price as a new one if they used my uni's.

I have a spare 4 speed one if you are after a 2nd hand one. As far as I remember it was ok.
If you are going past Gladstone you can check it out.

I have a brand newie on the 5 speed Isuzu I just bought. The sticker is still on it.
    Its part no FRC 8389.
The 4 & 5 are the same, I have both in the garage.

Thanks Deejay that part no is good to know, and Albert. I bought an army one off Bearman as he had a spare in the shed also. Will get it fitted when the new box goes in.
