A couple of weeks ago ( the day before a long trip ) the car wouldn't start and I found that the "bag" wasnt working. The relay was fine so I gave up and disconnected the cable so I could start it, and just used a bit of rope from the lever out through the bonnet and in through the door to stop it

When I got back I pulled the bag apart and found a lot of rust on the outside of the motor casing ( not terminal though) , and that the armature had frozen in the rear bush/bearing. After cleaning up the shaft end, the bush and assempling with a bit of gease, a generous squirt with WD40 to slow the rust on the casing, and replaced the 10A fuse, it now operates the fuel shutoff much faster than it used to

After 23 years all it needed was a bit of a service
