    Air Con pulley

    Hi Guys,

The pulley on the air con belt gave up on my 4BD1 county and I can't find a reference to it (insicors' CD, the parts sections, landrovers.com.au book) Anyone know what part I should be looking for? Is it LR or Isuzu?

Thanks - its getting hot now!

Is it the double belt type which was standard on the Isuzu on the bottom of the motor. If so the bearing number for it is MYH3172. Dimensions are 17.5mm wide 17.0mm inside diameter 40.0mm outside diameter and it is described as ball bearing, annular, double row, angular contact. If it is the pulley the part number is AYG0403. If it is only the bearing I would take the dimensions to a bearing shop rather than buy from Rover. You will probably get 6 for the same price Rover will charge. Hope this helps.........Brian

How much of it is missing? the pulley has a shaft that goes through the centre of the bearing, is it missing or still there. There is a circlip that goes into the pulley behind the bearing also..........Brian

I think that is the circlip sitting on the bracket . If it is damaged you might have to replace it. The part number is CR110405. Internal retaining ring (or inner circlip) 43.5mm X 1.75mm thick........Brian

Brian's correct (as usual) about the bearing, I overhaulled mine a few years back, and ended up throwing two thin sealed bearings in it's place, due to it being an odd size, and expensive!.

    isuzu a/c tensioner pully

I have a spare one my friend gave it to me about a year ago he replaced the bearing and it was expensive.
Since yours is stuffed I would be looking for a generic unit with the same type of groove in it they should be easy to get and then get you mounting bold machined or replaced to match the inside diameter of the bearing.
I think the bearing commonly get replaced with a sealed unit, where the original had a grease nipple. Maybe the the designer had the right idea.

wow i've not been able to get the pulley separate to the bearings and together I can't find the unit for less than $160.

Anyone know a place that may have a second hand one? (or does anyone have one laying around that I can buy from them? all you turbo people who removed or A/C? )

The thing is that I have a second Yokohama A/C unit installed in the back and it works brilliantly - an icy blast on the hot days but only when the compressor works.. I'm almost willing to pay $160 if I pretend i'm not getting only a pulley and just 'fixing the A/C'..
