    Hi Sheldon
    Hope you well just saw this thread, if you are still moving forward with the updated shift kit could you PM the cost for number 1 kit. I still have and still intend to use it.
    cheers

    Also apart from the kit itself, and an LT230. Is there anything else needed to change over from an LT95?
    I too have the LT95 (with TRB, 0.996 ratio) and was wondering if I'd need to change my transmission tunnel to fit the MSA box. I think Sheldon is busy, hard to contact, not sure if he is still selling his kits or not? I was keen now not sure.

    I'm learning to live with my LT95, although an OD gear would be nice to drop revs and noise at 100 kph, I don't reckon it would save you any fuel as the wind drag on our 'bricks' at 100+ kph makes a huge difference on fuel economy. It's much more relaxing sitting on 90-95 kph (in 4th) and get great economy. Also I like the four evenly spaced gears on the LT95. The MSA is really only a three speed with an OD as you never use 1st as it's too low.
    And the main purpose of my Landy is for touring the Vic hi country and the outback where you rarely should do more than 80kph.
    Having said all that I'd still love an OD! If romerdrive end up making one I'll get one for sure.
    Cheers, Andrew.

    Hi Sheldon, if and when you get back to these, can you PM me prices. I would prefer casting and LT85 shifter cover plate, but would be happy either way.

    A few questions about isuzu gearboxes;

    Are all B series truck flywheel and bell housings the same length? eg 6BG1 and 4BE1 with 5 speed appear to be common on wrecking yard websites, including later models which might have lighter aluminium castings.

    Are the aluminium cased ?MXA? gearboxes different in ways that would affect this conversion?

    What is the heaviest flywheel that would work in a truck housing?

    Cheers
    Dan

    G'day the_grubb. I've heard about this in Perth and would love to talk to you as my LT85 has just about kicked the bucket. Please call me or let me know how to get in touch with you about this kit. My number is 0410 638 886 and my name is Mike.
    Thanks.

    For anyone interested, I am making some adaptors for the 5 speed Isuzu Gearbox to be mated to the LT230.

    The housing is designed and will be ordering material this week. Working on three different options for the shaft and finalising the gear shift assembly.

    Initially am making up a kit to put the Isuzu Box in place of both the LT85 or LT95 in the 110 Isuzu keeping both the engine and transfer case in their original positions. Low range and diff lock levers will mount in the same position as per for the LT85.

    So also making some adaptor rings to mate the bell housing of the Isuzu box to the Landrover 4BD1 flywheel housing and this will in fact keep the Isuzu Box at the same location as to if the box was mated to the 4BD1 with the truck flywheel housing.

    After doing in the LT85 in my 110 last year and speaking to Dougal have been meaning to do this for awhile now.

    Dan, will pm shortly.

    Answers;

    All B series truck engine flywheel and bellhousing same length = no they are not.

    MXA can be different in the bellhousing to the MSA - the rear ends all seem to be the same.

    Heaviest flywheel in a truck housing depends on the truck housing.... assuming a standard 4BD1T truck housing - I believe the 4BD1T flywheel is the heaviest but could be wrong - never weighed them

    G'day Sheldon.
    If you could pm me a price for the conversion parts to replace my lt95 with one of these isuzu boxes that would be great. The lt95 is getting pretty sad and I would rather spend the coin on this upgrade rather then rebuild the existing box.
    Thanks Andrew.
