What about a TR6060 manual to LT230 done semi divorced like this one?
Adventra LX8 manual conversion
Not measured anything but an LT230 to one of these could sell well I reckon, appears to be a shorter (around 100mm from the link) and stronger solution than the T56 and came in a few formats (Ford and GM but nothing 4wd that I can find), ratios aren't awesome but could maybe over come with diffs and such. Can be had in OZ ex commode or chook tin for not too much outlay, parts availability is good to, mid shifter mech not too hard to get hold of.
Could open up a few more options for those wanting to do an LS or Ford conversion and want a manual?
I had put high range gears from an ffr in the rfsv but 1st is too fast and 4th is still too slow, especially when driving off road with friends, I seem to be using the clutch a lot or i have to stop and let them get ahead, only in high range of course on more open tracks, but low range is the best for the mean ****. it needs a thrust bearing but while the box is out id prefer to put a msr in. Thanks.
One substantial upgrade to the new design is a much larger input spline into the input gear of the LT230.
Instead of the 10 spline (with ~30mm OD) cut into the new spud shaft, a 32 spline (~36.5mm OD) is cut.
Then the LT230 is bored out and matching splines are internally cut.
This gives for a much beefier connection.
Also this fixes the problem that some input gears don't have their splines cut concentrically.
(The 32 spline is the same as the TH400/4L80/6L80 outputs)
For the 1.003 input gear will you be cross drilling it as well?
Also can you option the spud shaft for 32 spline OR 10 spline?
In case you needed to change the input gear.
Welcome back Sheldon.
Vern's thinking ahead for his next Tassie holiday :)
The input gear, will that be a virgin bore done to 32, or a 10 reconfigured to 32?
Is the spud just for those entertaining autos or customisable for other manual gearbox output shafts?
I can answer that. Its a 10 spline machined out to 32.
The auto boxes mentioned are all 32 splint so will go straight onto the input gear.
The spud shaft (same principal as the ftc5090 as used on the zf) will be used on the manual.
Other auto's will get a new output shaft.
I think that's what's going on.
