Very pretty Sheldon! :BigThumb:
I take it everyone's re-cutting the input on the LT230?
Sounds like its going to work well.
Cant wait. :) :) :)
Two different input splines i see, nice work.
Best get some input gears upto you oneday😁
Just one question. Is the internal spline on the Isuzu end of the shaft lubricated? (cross drilled or grease packed or similar)
I would say it could be depending on how he has done the adapter housing.
Having seen the results on the Getrag MT82 adapter shaft from lack of lubrication i wouldn't like to see it on ours. I'm also not keen on having to part the LT230 every few thousand K to add grease.
The problem without a wet transfer housing and gears engaging on the outside of the shaft is there's not much point of cross drilling.
Thinking about it a bit more, it would have to be lubricated from the gearbox as the seal runs on the transfercase only and the geabox output shaft bearing needs to be lubricated.
Just pulling the back off my spare msa now to have a look
Unless I've misunderstood, its going to have a large bolt up its guts to hold it all together. Grease, antiseize, loctite or your potion of choice - its effectively the same setup as the original output flange from a spline wear perspective.
