4bd1/4bd1T and fuel consumption

the planning range for the perenties is 450km/tank (65L) this takes into account a mixture of towing, and high and low range work in various conditions leaving you a 20l jerry up your sleeve.

Having that decent power on tap for say 13L/100 is good compare that to my 2.2 puma using 17.5L/100 in some cases for the amount of power you have isn't crash hot...

Just drove from Brisbane to Sydney. Mostly highway but some dirt roads throw in. Achieved 11.5L/100km. 4bd1t with a gt2256v 18psi max boost and standard tyres. Roof rack with oztent and rhino roof bag.

My average is now 12.6. 11.6 is the best (modest speed up the Hume) 13.8 the worst (towing car on a car trailer on winding roads with some fast dirt).



Figures are post turbo fitment, max 22psi. I calculate it per tank.

heading for my best fuel consumption figures to date according to the gauge, will fill tank and calculate in the next few days or so. a mix of towing the campertrailer, and the rest dirt road and hilly twisty bitumen.

this is after the new injectors went in, so stay tuned :)

Same here. Holiday traffic means 90-95km for a lot of the driving and I took a slightly longer but more rolling hill route than normal to avoid traffic. 600m vertical vs 900m vertical and rolling hills mean almost no braking required.
Fillup was 45.1 litres for 511km. 8.8 litres/100km.

But.
It may have had an air pocket of 1-2 litres hiding in the tank due to the load on board. Either way, it's a stellar result and well past the 10km/l I normally get.

Those figures are almost enough to get me to turn back the fuel screw.........

Fuel screw makes no difference. But 29 inch at tyres and a turbo running right in its best efficiency point do.
Fuel economy sucked with the t28 compressor.

Surely the IP supplying more fuel would cause you to use more fuel? (Or is this an other moment where I find myself asking the stupid questions so that others don't need too)
