I would also fit longer shackels, I had a friend who had para's on his 109 2a and it road really well.
before lifting shock mounts fit your springs and longer shackels then take the shocks off and ramp it somewhere and take measurements of open and closed lengths.
In the UK there was a company Gone2far suspension.
If you fit longer shackles with parabolics, you need to be VERY careful. They don't like being pushed too far through their arc. As I recall, the RM paras lifted the vehicle slightly anyway. They also came with a warning against the use of longer shackles/extended hangers for that reason. I'm not saying don't experiment, but try the recommended set up first and go from there.
dont tempt me ben, so if we get a set or lr springs and measure and count the leaves could you walk us through which ones to take out, what to do to the ones that we're keeping and what to tell the blokes at the springworks when we get them reset. because we're very impressed with what your 109 does
thanks ben it wont be happening right away, but when the time does come ill get in contact with you
the reason for the longer shackels isn't so much for gaining lift but more flex.
I have not come across that info about the para's not liking to flex to much, I thought that would be contradictry to the design, see if you can find any of the Gone2Far suspension photos of a series rover it has massive flex it dose have climax shackels though, but it is very possible to get the leaf trucks flexing very well.
My mate in darwin who owns a 7 inch lifted patrol went in a ramp day and there where toyota, jeep, suzuki, and other non important cars but the winner was a 45 series shorty cruiser, leaf sprung, the owner had spent alot of time making the leaf packs up playing and soughting out what works.
Some series 1 flex pics.
