6 Speed D3 box to LT230 ??

Suggests it's a ZF S6-53.
ZF say they are good for 600Nm max.

I'm wondering if they give a lower torque rating for the same gearset used in a heavier 4wd vehicle?

As the ad states, they are rare. Sneigy said in a recent thread that they had serviced only 2 manual D3s at the dealership he works for.

Yeah i have never seen a manual D3 or a TDV6/L6 Territory for that matter . A manual would make a defender TDV6 transplant a bit easier although i would prefer an auto.

The few Auto TDV6 conversions I've seen over here use the ZF4HP22 or 24, specifically where they've been dropped in to replace a V8, although the JE 'Saluki' conversions also use the 4HP24.
I think it's Milner Off Road who do the adapter, somewhere around £300 according to Simtek who do the Bodylogic ECU to run the engine.

Apparently 40mpg is possible with one in a P38.

That would be mu ultimate landy, defender with TDV6 and auto in a Puma .
Although it is tempting for my D1 without so much electronics to deal with.
