and LARA is finsihed (for now)

I have had a few PM's about how I am set up for long range touring so here goes my list of additions etc, and how I have set her up for long trips. Main note is do not tow anything as the Minister of finance and I still prefer a swag under the stars at this time. Some of the accessories are custom, others are imported and the rest are off the shelf in Australia. A few were fitted before I acquired her. I will attach pics as I go along.

    Front end:
    - TJM Bar with 5T winch with dyneema rope and precision alloyed hawse
    - 2 * 240 XGT spotties
    - 2 * 10" LED light bars (both the light bars and spotties are wired up to high beam with a dash mounted master switch)
    - Powder coated rod holder
    - 2 large (30mm thick) steel plates mounted directly to the chasis where the bar attaches as recovery points with two 12 mm 10.9 High tensile Bolts holding each one in place
    - Rijjidij bonnet mounted spare wheel carrier
    - Checker plate to front wheel arch tops

    On the sides:
    - Britpart molded tubular sliders/footsteps with checker plate

    On the back:
    - Heavy duty Kaymar spare wheel carrier and Hilift attachment (when off road also has a wheelie bag that fits over for rubbish)
    - Heavy duty Hayman Reese tow set up for recovery with solid block and rated recovery shackle.
    - LED work light hard wired and switch on dash

    On the roof:
    - Full length heavy duty Patriot rack (from the UK)
    - 2 * Jerry can holders (bolted on)
    - 4kg gas bottle holder (bolted on)
    - 272L Pelican tough box (bolted on) inside the box is all my tools and spares which will be listed later.
    - Mounted on top of the box is a semi flexible 160KW solar panel that can be removed and placed in the sun while the vehicle is in the shade
    - 2 more spare wheels and tyres
    - 2 sets of recovery trax, shovel and then everything else not inside the vehicle like, swag, plastic boxes full of cooking and camping gear etc etc.

    Inside:
    - Hard mounted to the dash and hardwired is a Hema HN7 navigator
    - Black powder coated steel binnacle mount
    - Apline stereo with 6 speakers to help kill the road noises etc
    - Hard wired and mounted 1500/3000W inverter with normal 240 volt plug and 3 USB charging ports
    - Dual battery set up with 1 gel deep cycle and one heavy duty starter with a 3rd battery in the rear that charges from Alternator once other 2 are full and can be used as an emergency starter with the flick of a switch on the dash
    - Milford Cargo Barrier
    - Aluminum and checker plate storage contraption accessible once rear door is open or via windows. The base contains a 120L molded water tank that comes from the floor level with what would be the level of bench seats. Each side is again from what would be the bench seats to level with the windows, these are the width of the same benches and this is where I keep compressor, snatch straps, deflators, tarps etc etc etc.
    - 40L Engel as a freezer (hard wired) used as a fridge for 1 - 3 day trips
    - 80L Engel as a fridge (has its own screw type fighting for power from cig lighter type connection)
    - multiple plastic boxes full of food, wine and beers yet to make it to the fridge.
(back seats are kept exclusively for clothes in backpacks a small 20L esky for drinks that day etc)

    Underneath:
    - 160L combined diesel tanks
    - Front and rear heavy duty axles and drive members
    - Stainless steel resleeve of clutch master and slave cylinders
    - Ashcroft 1.2222 heavy duty gearing and transfer case
    - Heavy duty ARB diff covers ( makes it look like I have air lockers because that's what they normally use them for but I don't)
    - 2" lift extreme long travel dual bore combination oil/gas shocks with matching heavy duty springs. If she is every empty of water and diesel the back rides high.

    In the box
    - Battery operated tools (remember I have an inverter for charging)
    - drill, rattle gun, angle grinder, chainsaw (carrot cutter)
    - full set of impact sockets and normal sockets
    - spanners and screwdrivers
    - hacksaw, wood saw, hammer, mallet, chisels etc
    - 2 sets of wheel bearings and 2 sets of every bush or bracket that are under the car.
    - 1 front and 1 rear shock (same size as i run, just cheapies that I can modify and sell off on the side of the road which I have done before)
    - 2 solar charged work lights with their own stands
    - and a box of screws, bolts, fencing wire, zip ties, cloth tape, elec tape and self fusing tape along with sealants, silicone, resins etc.

plus a few things I have no doubt forgotten

Front and rear door Windows are as dark as the local plods will allow. Not doing the back slide windows because my next project is gull wing windows. If anyone in WA has done that would appreciate where you sourced them and if they just went in or needed mods to the body??
