Well, there's a job well done. Not what i had in mind for myself, but very interesting and impressive.
I wonder if they found that simply disconnecting the electronics to the transfer case had it still working but without low range actuation or locking? No good for me though.
My thinking is i would either adapt the entire disco wiring into the new body, maybe even adapt parts of the disco dash into it, and the trans shifter, or go with an entirely different drivetrain.

There is heaps to like about the 4BD1T, but the NVH turns me off.
Isuzu 4BD1-T - YouTube
The 1HDT has much better NVH.

1HDFT seems even better.

The NVH on a 4bd1t is barely worse than a 300tdi!
I did a dB test the other day on mine, 77dB @ 100kph.
Now whilst at that speed i slipped it into neutral, and the dB stayed the same, it was all tyre noise!
The 1hd-fte is a great engine though, plus being a 6 it will run smoother/quieter.
May be a 6bd1t then[emoji6]
With driver controlled front, centre and rear diff locks, or equivalent to jeep's quadra-drive system.
With individual, permanent activation, driver controlled on/off switches for abs, esp, and tc. Or no esp or tc at all, give people advanced driver training instead.
No canbus, and with individual computers to the maximum extent possible, or no computers at all, for the engine, transmission and transfer case.
60kg lighter it seems. Would help.
