Not Quite correct as in being the only 4 speed TC on the market, The Iveco Daily 4x4 has 3 seperate low range ratios . The Rock crawler ratio is planetary too .
but for my money I'd have a Forbyn Series TC Replacement Transfer Case | Forbyn Bros.
for those with too much money or need the flexibility of 3 low range transfer case
Atlas 4 Speed Transfer Case Builder | Advance Adapters
low range options
Low Range:1.5:1, 2.72:1, & 4.08:1 or
2.0:1, 2.72:1, & 5.44:1 or
2.72:1, 3.0:1, & 8:16:1 or
2.72:1, 3.8:1, & 10.34:1
enjoy pondering the possibilities.

wish i had known about this when i was trying to squeeze the front output shaft past the 6R80 auto. Subject to a suitable adaptor between the 6R80 and this unit and a lubricated shaft (like Ashcroft) it would open the way for the 3.2 Duratorq 6 sp auto conversion. Oh well that ship has sailed.
In theory it would work (won't know until you do a trial fit). The RHS of the 6R80 auto protrudes because of the valve body. Rangers have a LHD TFC and it's not a big unit but may have its front output flange lower than the LT230, which would add clearance to the auto. I've not put them side by side in correct orientation. I probably could because my gearbox is out with a stripped 3rd and the mechanic has ranger parts laying around.
For a Defer would it require fabrication of the diff housing or do the P38 use the same radius arm set up (including mounting location on housing)? The nasty option is to use the ranger TFC (not low in gearing) or go to an altas or other LHD unit of worth. Using a LHD means changing the rear housing to a centre mount. Getting very expensive. My wallet hurts just thinking about it.
Or an Ashcroft underdrive behind the LT230.
Cray low, low low
If you can still buy them?
When asked a while ago regarding fitting ashcroft ATB to centre, the diff lock lever seem to switch from 2wd to 4wd:
Hi,
*Ours does not use a center dif like the 230. its 2 or 4 wheel drive. Very strong and reliable. Not sure if that fits your plan.*
Im happy to answer any other questions you may have.
Thank you,
Greg Forbyn

I rode in Dave's Jeep with an Atlas (his was 2 speed). The Atlas has 2 selectors - one selects H or L for the front output and one selects H or L for the rear output. In theory you can have the front in HR and the rear in LR or visa a versa or as the response from Greg alludes to, you lock the rear (in either H or L) and the front in neutral to be 2wd. If not set up right (cable alignment or tension) they can be a pain to engage between H and L.
