On my 1998 130 300TdI I have the boost gauge feeding off the outlet on the back of the intercooler (closest to the firewall).

My 130 has had a pump tune, bigger intercooler, and some other tweaks and helps to propel my 3t barge along quite nicely.

My VDO gauge reads at about 18psi at max load

17 PSi is around normal at stock tune stock parts full noise full load.

21 PSI is easily achievable with tweaking stock parts full noise full load.

40psi is doable but its lots of work and hard on the fuel tank.
