    Edelbrock Carb plenums

    Hi Guys,
I am looking at doing away with my paper and conventional air filter housing and building something a little more off road friendly.
If it means having to add a snorkel that's fine. Have any of you fabricated or bought an air intake plenum to fit onto a Edelbrock carb
and if so is it possible to see your setup?
This is my current setup, however not ideal when it comes to river crossings.

I just had a look here http://www.realsteel.co.uk/ and they don't seem to have anything. They seem to be pretty complete with what is available. owned by an Aussie ( or used to be)

It would be pretty easy to fabricate a plenum with a 90 degree tube bend and make up a plate based on the air cleaner flange. And then you could make the angle as you prefer etc.

Yeah that was my thought too. I thought the Americans may have produced a plenum giving they sell an off road version of the same carb.
Sometimes making is more fun than buying anyway.

What i would use and they are very easy to find is an impco gas hood that has the removable snorkel bolted on, remove that and a simple adapter can be made to take silicone or rubber hose to a filter box of some kind.

Like this but a more compact version
