A modern bike. It has lights, blinkers, and disc brakes.

I'd have said a Bonneville but why the bashplate? Makes me think Army.

Disc brakes were on early Trumpies, Brian, but they probably weren't that style.

Depends what you consider early. A friend has a 1915 Triumph and its brakes are blocks that rub on the rims. To me a bike with discs and blinkers is a late model. Another friend has a 1927 Velocette two stroke and according to the catalogue of the time and the owner book, lights were an accessory item to be fitted by the dealer or owner. Five pounds extra. Many early bikes were supplied without front brakes which were an extra charge item, and unpopular, as many riders considered them unsafe and likely to cause skids.
