World's Fastest V8 Piston Engine in a Car - Demonic - Hot Rod Magazine
And they figure the package could produce 300 - 400hp more and have 500mph in their sightsall from 347 cui
And all that for a mere, $(insert your mothers birthday here) thousand.
Another example of why Chev motor design is so superior over the other manufacturers like Hemi and Ford, and they haven't resorted to multi-valves.
Seriously though, it's interesting that the motors now are producing enough power and the focus is turning to power delivery and control systems. The new era of drag racing technology.

And it still only does 9000rpm.
And it states that the demon was built to take a 4 cylinder so a big block wouldnt fit and yet that maze of pipework fits ?
I agree with Tank there is not one component that left a GM factory in that engine.

Dunno why some are arcing up here............ the thing is turboed and intercooled, not NA.
Remember that the 1.5 litre turbo F1 motors of the 80's were putting out around 2000 ponies.
The cast iron SBC in my POS had already been rebuilt before I bought it, and then done nearly 500,000k's on lpg, still runs fine, has accidentally been abused coolant and oil wise more than once.
Get in it and drive to the other side of the nation, quite cheaply, what more could one want?
Bit like an Isuzu really.

No ones arcing up, just pointing out that the GM flag wavers have a slightly mute point when there is nothing GM about that engine (except basic design ), its an amazing feat none the less when taken in perspective. A ford BA 4ltr turbo motor has put out 1000hp with a stock cast block and bottom end.

I've done 515hp with a stock toyo alloy block, crank & heads. 880+ with a cast iron block and stock cranks & heads. Lots of theory that some of those "on paper" guru's said would never work or make a difference. And all NA as well.
