    Plumbing Question

    Hi all,

Hope this is in the right section if not feel free to move...

Trying to sort out a plumbing issue for parents - they have an old style hot water tank in roof which is gravity fed. had a quick look seems to be working ok with a cistern like reservoir operating ok. they had issues with their old taps in the kitchen so i replaced with new ones complete including hardware, taps, the two copper pipes as one piece to cold and hot supply, works fine except the hot water now is coming out at 25% compared to the cold outflow. this is on full flow. 2 suggestions have been air in the system or the newer taps have a restriction to limit hot water usage. not sure about the 2nd, but have tried the 1st. have turned on all taps outside and in, showers, garden for 5min and the water seems to be the same ie no obvious air in the system coming out... could it be something to do with the taps? or is there another way of releasing air from the system. thx

The restrictor would slow the flow on the cold as well. If cold is still good pressure then maybe you have kinked the copper or flexible hoses that attach from hot in wall to tap set.

Also we have been getting a few breaches that haven't been drilled out properly if at all this tends to puzzle apprentices
