Well, the experts say 'go with what you know' and I did. I sell individual soldier equipment. Started with importing combat boots and now sell Camelbak style hydration systems, daypacks, load bearing equipment as well as custom manufacturing from one of my providers, who sends me to deal with defence customers. Also have a small business that has yet to grow out of hobby size, hope it does soon.
You already know what my small business is Damo, tell us more about what yours does. Matt
I am a bit expensive but you will have the gear for a very long time.
Not bad Damo, so you only sell to the defense forces, can civilians buy stuff from you? Matt
They certainly can. I have one customer who used to buy $500 hiking boots until he got a pair of mine. If you want some of the Hydrapacks, I have some good deals on the old models.
I can recommend hydration packs i have one Camelback H.A.W.G. best thing if your into bush walking, trailbike riding, mountain bikes i even use mine in the 4b for a drink on long drives. Worth every cent 8)

With a wife and five kids I don't have the time OR money for hobbies.
Camping/fishing is my vise ( also beer/cigars ) and the kids sometimes get invited along if they've been behaving themselves.
Also like making things out of wood/metal but mostly on an as needs (demand) basis. I probably spend a lot more time designing things for home/play when I'm at work than I should 8) but what my boss doesn't know, wont hurt me.
Bruce.
Hi BMac, I think with 5 kids, you may have left one of your hobbies out
Cheers
dont confuse hobbies with habitsQuote:

sssshhhhhhh it's a secret
Ya know one of these days i'm gunna get this quote thing
Me, I'm an ex Motorcycle Racer/Rider, MX and Road. Can't watch it on telly as I end up wanting to get back into it all the time. Get my fix now by helping out at a mates Kawasaki dealership from time to time. Turn up on a Saturday morning take a few demo's for a quick blast around, try and sell a few, and that tide's me over for a few more weeks.
Also used to play Aussie rules footy and Water polo.
The last big venture has been white water kayaking. Competed in a few Avon Decents in WA, managed to finish 3rd in a 4 man Kayak one year 2nd in class in a K1 another year, Finished a few others in the K1, tried it in a Power boat and DNF after jumping the Weir and bending a prop shaft.
However old age, crash's and maturity has caught up with me now.
Thinking about dusting off the K1 for another tilt at the Avon this year. I just keep thinking of all that training and those cold cold mornings. 8O
Now it seems I spend all my free time gardening and doing kid things  Oh well the shackels will loosen up one day.
