Yep, but the Option 97s in the Cobra totalled 30, it seems the option 96 applied to 5.8 and 4.9 from what I have seen.

Don't believe everything ya read in A.M.C.
I'd love one of the 30 "Special" Cobras, but a 5.8 version with A/C would be pretty good too,..whether it was auto or manual wouldn't worry me.
I nearly bought a white XD 5.8 Auto ESP with 28000ks on the clock, in the late eighties, it was a lovely car, it would've been a lovely "cruiser" but not quite "sharp" enough for me at the time, so I bought an HDT VK Group A (the blue one), with 6000ks on the clock.....paid $23K for it!).
Pickles.
I agree with Pickles about not believing everything you read in AMC. I get this mag quite a bit and there are obvious errors frequently. Lazy journalists that think they know about cars so dont do the proper research.
If you did noyt keep the VK I bet you wish you did. Going for around $100K now. I am kicking myself for not buying one but at the time when they were new would have meant trading my Torana. Had the opportunity to buy a few second hand but did not. Would love to be able to go back.
