I don't get why he stopped trying ?! An awful example to set to the kids. He should ( I guess he wont) be glad he's not in the trenches or working down a mine or something, then he'd have something to moan about.
cheers,

A 4 hour high class tennis match on a hot day is a tough assignment. Unless you've done it you have no idea. You come face to face with every physical and mental weakness you have and it can be ugly. I won't criticize from the cheap seats only to comment that there have been quite a few greats who have handled it a lot better. It's what made them great.
I see brats every weekend at sporting events..........so the odd one has to end up on TV.....woopi doo.
Best thing is to ignore it, not write about it, not discuss it.......probably the reason I don't watch the news or buy newspapers
Personally I don't think there is any excuse for his behaviour. I think the officials should clamp down and issue some serious sanctions.
I don't follow the tennis so only know what I've read in the papers but I've never liked Dawn Fraser. Nuff said.
Yet another example of how the ridiculous amounts of money in sport leads to the celebrity being more important than the game.
He got a bad call - who hasn't at some time or another, and he chucks the towel in and spits the dummy.
What a great example for kids. If it gets too hard just have a tanti.
Maybe he should give back all the money Tennis Australia put into his career and while at it he should give up his prize money and give it back to the crowd that paid hard earned to see a competitive sporting match not some sook who wants it all his own way.
This actually touches on a major gripe of mine. It is slightly off topic.
Why is it that one kid goes to uni and gets a degree that will pay them maybe $80-100k/pa ends up with a debt of say $30k which must be paid back, yet a genetically gifted sports person can go to the AIS, have the best of everything including food and accommodation and pay back NOTHING, no matter what they earn? I just think this is very unfair. Tomic, Kyrgios and many others have earned many millions yet repay not a cent. Rafter and Hewitt both live in the Bahama's which is a tax haven.
Time we treated our youth a little more equally I think.
