I have a demo of a PC Game called 'Screamer 4x4'. It cuts out after 8 mins, but it is good fun. You get to drive a diesel 70 series SWB Landcruiser in a huge open 4wding field and do what ever you want. It is quite realistic, you can control everything, hi/lo range, all gears and clutch, and even front and rear difflocks.

It was made a few years ago, so it isnt made anymore...but id still love to get the full version. You can drive a defender in the full version!

If anyone has the full version of this game, please let me know.

Got myself some new games just recently (the beauty of a birthday), in which I got two new games from the "Conflict" series being Conflict: Vietnam and the brand new Conflict: Global Storm.

Conflict Vietnam: Not to bad. I'm only a few levels in and I have found it pretty tough. The big thing that gets me is the jungle that you have to wade through. It makes it really hard to see the enemy and difficult to get a clean shot with the sniper. I guess thats based off the real deal, and their attempts to make things authentic are pretty good.
Just a hint: ditch the weapons that you originally are given and pick up one of the enemies machine guns. The reason being is that you can pick up plenty of ammo specific for that machine gun when you kill the enemy. It was hopeless trying to find ammo to suit my issued gun.

Conflict Global Storm: This is so great. Set in modern day locations which focus on terrorism across the globe. The first two levels are jungle and compound based, but I'm up to a stage now set in the city with performing protection duties of VIP's under attack by Korean terrorists.

They have really made some changes in comparison to the previous games. Firstly, you will have to learn the button combinations all over again as they are all different (PS2 I'm talking about). You are limited to two large firearms and a side arm, but just do like I said to do with Conflict Vietnam and get your hands on an enemies AK because there is heaps of ammo to be found.
They have removed the automatic aiming function (even on the easy setting) so it requires you to really develop accuracy with your shot placement. The fun difference with this game is that the enemies don't stop in the one spot when you start shooting at them like in previous games... in this one they are always on the move looking for cover and hitting the dirt to make themselves less of a target.
The introduction of flashbangs and frag grenades is a cool modern idea. Throwing them is way easier than before. In previous games you were restricted by gravity and had to judge distances by how far you lent back to throw the grenade. Now there is a target dot and it throws the grenade straight to that point.
The "blood splatter" has been increased with this game. A well aimed shot to the head with the sniper rifle creates a large mist plume of blood. Not for the kiddies sorry...

Its been really good so far. In fact... just talking about it makes me want to get back into it

Cul
