Yeah, i have a few of those growing at school at the moment, Stacey and are are debating as to how long we will be here for as we are planning a move in the next couple of years, dont ask me where to, so we havent forked out the dollars to set it up as we need a good fence to keep the rabbits out. I am still getting the hang of what to plant where. Growing the vegies at school has tought me a bit. Dad did all the vege growing when we were kids, i never really got into it. Hi Ace
Frost only kills stuff that dont like it,a few weeks back we had 3 weeks of minus 3,OK it sorted my chillis and capsicums out, which were under plastic, burnt the potatoe tops, wich are now re-shooting.UNAFFECTED VEGIES that are still hapilly growing at the moment are Brocolli,Cauli,Cabbage,Chinese Cabbage,Pak Choi,Lettuce(both leaf and hearting),Garlic,Onions,Peas,Broad Beans,Rhubarb,Beetroot,Silverbeet, and Parsley.
In the next few days I will be sowing spring vegie seeds in my hothouse.Tomatoes, chillis, capsicum,Zucchini,Corn etc.We still will get frosts for the next 6 to 8 weeks but they are fairly safe in the hothouse.
Cant wait for my asparagus to start growing, its dormant at the moment, but will shoot soon as the ground temp starts rising.Love asparagus, raw boiled or pickled YUM YUM YUM.
Andrew
