Yeah you can't half miss me at band comps. Not too many of us Bass Trombonists out there when you think about. What band have you played with in the last couple of contests?

The closest I can get is, my uncle plays bass guitar in a well know aussie rock band. I snuck my boys into a gig in Atherton recently, and have turned my 8 year old into a mad drummer :? . It's costing me a fortune in lessons now. He can pay me back when he gets his first record contract.... I wish 8O .

if it worked like that it'd be nice... record companies won't sign anyone untill they're established (costs too much to publicise and get the record sales up...) so probably once you've sold about 30-40,000 CDs they'll actually think about signing you, which makes it absolutely pointless signing with the record company because you've already got a fairly large following and recorded a CD (all paid for out of your own pocket) and YOU get to keep all the profits from CD sales!

Record companies just screw you over and keep most (if not all) of your money, and they wonder why most new-comers to the industry are doing it all independently!

    cheers,
    bryce
