The (Ken's) RS2000 was white with a red hip flash and the traditional black bonnet. IIRC, 1985 was our last year playing in group A. The car was then rebuilt and modified to compete in the Wynns Safari.

I was referring to the NSW GEAR club. Here is a link to their website.
Classification
The Qld. GEAR Club allows sedans and sports cars to 1978 and race cars to 1990. In my opinion they have lost the faith. The Golden Era was up to 1960 and NSW still adheres to this. I usually go to Wakefield Park once or twice a year for GEARs days.
Note the NSW rules about recreations ( fakes and replicas).
In 2012 I had discussions with the GEAR eligibility committee about a project I had in mind. They gave me a fair hearing and indicated that the proposed car did not meet their guidelines. The engine was about 1962 and the car sometime in the 60's either of which ruled it out. I was proposing a car of the appearance of a 1950's front engine GP car based on a sprint car chassis and an Offenhauser 252 lightweight engine. They differentiate between replicas and re-creations. A re-creation is an exact high quality reconstruction of an important car that no longer exists using materials and parts from the era. A replica is a vehicle made to look like an existing vehicle using anything that is available and fits the regulations of the class concerned. GEAR recognised re-creations but not replicas. MY project would have been simply a new car made from old parts not of the period. They did like the idea though and hoped the car got built so they could see and hear it. The Offy was in Shreveport and I had the chassis. I had to decline the offer of the Offy and the chassis went to a good home to have a 600 hp Chev put in.
