    Historic Racing Qld Raceway

This weekend is Historic Racing @ Qld Raceway. I went up today for practice & T&T day, here are some of the cars there today.
Well I will post them up once I move them from were my computer has put them after Microsoft did an up grade last week.

    Found them DSCN3918.jpgDSCN3916.jpgDSCN3913.jpgDSCN3912.jpgDSCN3911.jpgDSCN3909.jpgDSCN3908.jpg

Apart from the great classic on the track there were also some quite exotic in the car park.

Historic racing is being submerged under a sea of tintops too many of which are replicas or fakes and never ever raced in the period. Where are all the real racing cars? Open wheelers particularly those with the engine in front where God meant it to be.

I am OK with the (period correct) replicas as I can appreciate that the owners of the real ones maybe a bit reluctant to risk damaging something they cherish and is potentially irreplaceable.

In any racing you need to accept that you could write it off in the 1st race.
The ex touring cars are worth too much & not too many people will take that risk.
There will be Formula V's & Sports Sedans running .
Back in the 60's & 70's the car that started at the bigining of the season could have had a couple of body changes over the season .
As far as I am concerned I would rather watch any car from the 50's 60's & 70's running with what they were alowed back then , than of the v8 super car of today that only have a Ford or Holden motor & a plastic body & every thing else is the same.
