Thread: Ball tampering.

Their reputation has been poor for some time, particularly because of their unsportsmanlike sledging of opponents, which has been way over the top. Aussies have defended their behavior as part of the game, but now are seeing them as others have seen them for some time.

I have never been so ashamed of our cricket team since the underarm bowling incident against New Zealand all those years ago, even though it was legal at the time it was still unsportsmanlike. Smith has to be sacked along with Warner who really needs anger management therapy. Action should be taken against the bowler too as well as Lehman. We are better than this and as one person on this Thread has already mentioned, Australian cricketers have been sledging and scraping the bottom of the barrel for sportmanship for some time now.

    God, I'm embarrassed.

What an absolutely disgusting thing to do. All those concerned should be sacked. They're saying that they can't because "all" the leaders knew what was going on,,, well guess what,,, stiff ****ing ****,, **** off.
    Yes.
In professional sport NOTHING happens without the instruction or approval of the coaching staff, the captain and the so-called leadership group.
They all must go. Now. On the first available flight. The must, now and in the future, not be able to play and just fade into a sad and ugly stain on Australian sport.

Yes, sledging is just a polite word for bullying, which is unacceptable.

I had no idea a test was on, and now I do.
    A brilliant marketing ploy.
It certainly has breathed more life into the dead horse. Cricket has knocked the weather off the No1 spot of the office water cooler conversations.

Mick, this incident is going to cost CA and cricket in general in this country a ****ing fortune.

Smith will now be always remembered as the captain who cheated. His reputation will be even worse than the Chappell brothers in the underarm bowling incident. At least underarm bowling was legal at that time, ball tampering has never been legal.

    How?
Will they be fined millions? Did the Indians get fined millions when they got caught ball tampering.

Please supply a breakdown of cost.
How exactly will it cost CA and cricket in general?

Wasn't the South African Captain (Faf du Plessis) charged with ball tampering before Xmas just gone when playing against Australia in Hobart? Not excusing the Australian action at all, just saying this sort of behaviour should be eradicated from the game across the board.
