I'm off bush with the Disco and camera again in December. 5 weeks of roughing it and having a ball along the Savannah Way - Qld to NT and maybe some Kimberley to top it off. Last time we just got through before the main wet hit. Who knows what'll happen this time...

I love wildlife, though I'm also very much into the flora side of things. I dont think there's anything more special than finding a green-hood orchid while my partner's stuck in the hole 100m down the track. So saying, i live in the sticks, I get king parrots, currawongs, magpies, eastern rosellas, crows, bower-birds, rock warblers, kookaburras, a few varieties of robins and little finch like birds such as fairy-wrens on my front lawn on any given day when I'm at home to sit and watch. I also have a resident possum with a baby on it's back and a mating pair of tawny frog mouths that come around my place at the right time of year. There -was- also a snake living in my lawn-locker. I never did sit down and figure out what sort it was though. We're also home to a group of rare brush-tailed rock wallabies that roam along the ridge opposite where I live. I just -love- my place! My all time high, was being able to admire a bandy-bandy (sp?) snake up close and personal a few years ago. I've never seen one since though *sighs*.
