    building a bar

I have been slowly building a rustic type shack/bar in the pool area at home, just using bits of wood hear and there, giving it a shack type hut feel about it.

I've also run power to it for the fridge which i keep my homebrew kegs in, i have put a beer tap on the bar connected to the kegs in the bar fridge.

So now on a hot afternoon after work or a BBQ on the wekkend i have beer on tap

It's not finished yet, a luvered opening window is planned for the non door side a half door maybe for the doorway and i'm thinking that maybe luvered windows for the door side to replace those glassed windows.

The back will have luvered windows that open and close, those are being made by a firm in QLD, should look good and this will be this only part not made by me, for $114 i couldn't argue really

Anyway that's it so far, any comments and ideas are welcome, and please be honest i want this to look good, i will take a more wide spread photo to give you an idea of it's location at the pool soon as it stops bloody rainning

Nice work redback i have something similar in mind for my pool area, what i would really like though is like what my mate in Sth Africa had. He had a traditional style thatched rondaval hut which had a sunken spa and a bar at one end, his parents were from Belfast so had a Guinness theme to it.

I had a similar idea, no spa though, just the thatching, it is still a thought and could well be done in the future, i'm thinking of changing the roof to a normal pitched style then thatching, the roof on it was just thrown up to get some cover, hence the gap above the timber sides, i may thatch this roof first to see how it looks, then decide from there.

Pedro the bar top is 2 bits of 7' X 10" X 4" Oregon that i pinned together, this will be replaced soon as i get the slab guy up the road to cut me a slab of Red Gum
